Metalplate Galvanizing - Hot Dip Galvanizing Service Life

Hot Dipped Galvanizing is performed in a
Galvanizers Kettle using Molten Zinc. At Metalplate Galvanizing there is
no Mechanical Galvanizing so Protective Coatings for Corrosion Protection
of Iron and Steel are not Electroplating or Painted but Galvanized using
the Galvinization method of Galvanizing. In Europe they Galvanise using
Galvanising and Galvinisation with an s as in Structural Steel Fabrication
to provide Cathodic Protection, Rust Proofing and Prevention.

The graph below illustrates the expected service of a galvanized coating as a function of coating thickness in varying atmospheric conditions. As you can see, the life of a coating is linearly related to its thickness. Very simply, the thicker the coating, the longer it will last.

Metalplate Galvanizing provides
Cathodic Protection and Rust Prevention by coating Structural Steel with
Zinc in the Galvanizing Process. The Galvanized Steel is superior to
Electroplated Steel because the Corrosion Rate is much lower for the
Fabrication coming from the Galvanizer who uses Galvanization instead of
Paints.
